Transforming Laity
This Holy War, the REAL Thing, Will Cost You Everything
2/6/2010
Transforming self-imposed “laity”, religion-imposed “laity”—into the GLORY OF A RESURRECTED LIFE…
…into a Kingdom of Priests—is not a doctrine, but a War.
The gimmicks and books and “small group format” blah blah won’t change a thing. You know that by now if you’ve paid attention to your own heart, and those around you. Once you put aside the “Aha! We found it! THIS time our gimmick will work!” and its adrenaline rush, and get real, you’ll realize the merry-go-round is fun at first, but ends up back in the same place in your life or home or church. NO one “slides right in” to TRUE Crucified TogetherLife. The culture shock, the skandalon is more than anyone can figure out or bear in their lives. This is about a CROSS, not changing into a “Type-A Personality” from a “Type-C” or “Type-D” and “participating more.” Gracious NO!
This Holy War, the REAL thing, will cost you everything.
Flesh never dies without a fight. “It’s HARD to kick against the Shepherd’s prod,” the Master said.
For fake believers, yet unconsecrated or converted to Y’shua, it is impossible for them to become wise, loving, courageous Priests of God. By definition. Flesh canNOT learn to be Born of the Wind, Born of Fire.
For true believers, in love with Jesus and regenerated by the Holy Spirit by “obedience of the faith,” it is still the “pains of childbirth” to “present them complete in Christ”.
It is a War to change self-imposed laity or religion-imposed laity into a Kingdom of Priests. Try it and see. Paul came honestly by the expressions “pains equal to having a BABY” and “WRESTLING to present Believers TELIOS in Christ.” : )
A “revolutionary” doctrine or gimmick or format change, all dating back to Martin Luther and John Wesley in any event, will NEVER do.
Bring it on! It’s worth it all!!! For the Lamb.
Great Grace is Upon Us (11/14/89)
We thank you our Father for what You have done
Yet it’s clear to our hearts that You’ve only begun
To change us, and shape us, and make us brand new
We’re thrilled at the thought of what You can do
For much Grace is upon us, it’s so clear to see
Your Gifts undeserved, yet abundant and free
You’ve taken a people, apart and alone
And knit us together and made us Your own
Imperfect we are, that we do not contend
But aim for perfection we will till the end
For Your Grace inspires us, woos us to dare
To serve with devotion exceedingly rare
And what of the future? For what can we hope?
Far more than survival and ability to cope
The heights we will scale and the depths we will probe
Of the love of our Lord in Majesty robed
For we serve a God who delights to be known
By those who are willing their lives to disown
Will we deserve this? Oh, never indeed
But Your Grace we’ll trust, in Your ways we’ll succeed
All around wages a war to be won
And win it we will through the cross of Your Son
So, marshal your forces, dig deeply within
Seek Jesus inside you, root out every sin
Take captive the thoughts that distract from the Lord
Take up the helmet, the shield, and the sword
His Glory awaits us, don’t ever give in
And with His Grace upon us we’re certain to win
